What is our philosophy, especially concerning human beings? Here is a short version, because not everyone wants to read a longer text: We see in the human being a being that is neither fully explorable for others nor for himself. No human being can measure how great this undiscovered part is. It follows that the whole human being is greater than the sum of its parts. This is precisely what human dignity is based on.

Those who limit their understanding of the human being to biochemical processes will find it difficult to perceive and justify human dignity. One should turn it around: The unknown part of the human being is the core of his being.

What is biologically describable in the human being, what remains and becomes matter again, is therefore not what makes him a human being. It is only, as it were, his surface.
